10,000 squirrel power

Amy and I really love our Prius. We think it was the right car at the right time. Plus we like sticking out our tongues at the H2 drivers as we pass them at the gas station. (To any H2 drivers out there...you do realize that your basically driving a gussed up Chevy Tahoe not an actual HMMWV?)
Even with gas prices around $3 a gallon we are probably spending around $40 a month on gas. Which is as it should be.

Anyway we're currently a 1 car, 2 bike family (The miata shaped object or MSO is on permanent motor pool status in the garage right now) which is ok with us. But if I were to get another car it would probably be this one.

The Tesla is 100% electric and can go from 0 to 60 in about 4 seconds. Only one small problem...it costs about $100,000 at the moment. That's $10 per squirrel! Maybe they'll go on sale next year.

ooooh, honey... let's get one!.... someday.... maybe... but imagine the amount of money we'd save not EVER buying gas again!!!! That would rock the world!

Hate to be the 'practical' one...what about resources used to feed the squirrels? Are there really savings in the end?

Steve: Red Squirrels also require more sleep than your average Grey Squirrels. It isn't so much scarcity as run-time. Bio-Auto-combinologists are working right now on hybrid version which uses a single red squirrel for zipping around town and a series of four to eight grey squirrels for long-distance zipping. You know, so the red squirrel can nap a bit.
